Catalogue Description:
Ewer, ivory body, of bulbous form with elongated, tapering neck surmounted by flared and scrolling pulled spout and terminating in a ring-shaped knop above the inverted, sloping shoulders of the onion-shaped body, mounted on a raised, circular foot. The neck decorated in celadon green ground beneath a gilt craquelure pattern and neo-greque decorative motifs, the body decorated with an overall gilt and platinum pattern of naturalistically rendered thistles and tulips. The molded and applied reticulated handle, of ear-form with everted arches, of celadon ground with gilt decoration. Very good condition.
