Catalogue Description:
Large fragment of tapestry-woven band set in looped fabric. Pattern consists of vine with attached tendrils, forming roundels which contain lions and gazelles alternating with arabesque plants. The animals are in black with red tongues, the plants in green, red yellow and black. The band is woven into closely looped linen cloth. Condition: General condition excellent. Small portion of weft missing. Small portion of the second register preserved below but weft is entirely missing.
