Catalogue Description:
Green glazed faience scarab of Akhenaten. The scarab is of conventional form and of poor workmanship. It is crudely made, poor quality glaze though of good color. The base was stamped apparently with a cartouche which is so crudely done that it is not possible so far to decipher it. It is doubtless a royal or divine name. As the object was part of a foundation deposit doubtless little care was spent making it. As usual it is pierced. Condition: Surface lightly weathered, one side chipped.
