Circular medal. Obverse: Classical female figure holding assay scales and snake, surrounded by spouted urn on table at left, seated lion and strongbox at feet, and mint building at left. Text along bottom: "J POLLOCK DIRECTOR." Reverse: Wreath of laurel and oak leaves surrounds the text: "ANNUAL / ASSAY / 1870" CNDITION: Normal wear, good.
