Catalogue Description:
Circular medal. Obverse: seated male allegorical figure holding out wreath with national crest at side; building and various devices (wheel, etc.) in background; central scene ringed by stars and roundels with 4 female allegorical figures at cardinal points. Reverse: struck with "INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION / PHILADELPHIA, MDCCCLXXVI" around edge and "AWARDED BY / UNITED STATES / CENTENNIAL COMMISSION" in center within laurel branches.
