Catalogue Description:
Small bronze mask of a heavily bearded satyr or Silenus. Cast in one piece with open back. Possibly an inlay or decoration from a piece of furniture. Condition: Object was diseased and very heavily corroded. Had to be treated by electrolysis. Cured but result not very satisfactory. Surface now coppery brown. Good work. Details of beard and left ear broken.
