Catalogue Description:
Youthful male head of dark green schist. The eyes are deeply set into the face, and the corners of the mouth are drawn slightly downwards. On the youth’s head is a lion’s skin, and this attribute makes probable the identification of this piece as a representation of the young Heracles. Condition: Broken off diagonally at neck. Chin and nose mostly missing. Chips in eyes and brows. Top of head chipped and worn; other chips and scratches. Incrustation in some hollows.
