    CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Iron bell with effigy handle of wood. Bell is painted with alternating pink and white horizontal stripes. Label attached by French trading company in Western Congo refers to bell as "Cloche a Palabre." Effigy handle in form of human head displaying Bambala-like hair style. Face shows traces of white paints.
