    CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION En suite with 1990.230.8 Peacock Chair. Center Table; Silver gilt and polychrome wood. Irregular oval top with over-all curved peacock feathers. At center, pair of free-standing carved peacocks standing in opposite directions, one bird biting beak of other, in silver, blue, red, white and black, their tails spreading on to table top. Central curving tree trunk pedestal in light brown and green terminating in quaternate roots supported by quaternate rock-like base. Four large freestanding leaves attached to pedestal trunk. CONDITION - Very good condition. Surface dirty. Loss to end of peacock's body at juncture to tail. On table top; other with crack at juncture of body and tail. Leaves loose at attachment with pedestal (previously broken off and poorly reattached). Small holes in tops of birds' heads (missing crest feathers?).
