INSCRIPTIONS Inscribed on verso by Albert Gleizes (with whom Lazzell was studying), in graphite: "Je voudrais dans cette composition moins d'éparpillement / Les [mesures?] sont trop uniformes -- L'action doit être / ecrite plus fortement." ["I would like less scattering in this composition / The [central sections?] are too uniform -- The action must be inscribed more forcefully."]; also, inscribed in different hand, "July 8"
