These study images may be digital point-and-shoot photographs, when we don\'t yet have high-quality studio photography, or they may be scans of older negatives, slides, or photographic prints, providing historical documentation of the object.
Square, open weave, cream, linen/cotton background with overall cross and tent stitch decoration in silk thread, symmetrical flora and fauna decoration, with floral border design of stylized meandering vine in dark green, with flowers in dark and light green and yellow and orange; verse at upper section and name and date stitched at lower third, narrow hem at upper and lower edges with selvedges at both remaining sides. Upper center section has verse: " In thy garden here below water us that/ We may grow when all grace to us/ Is given then transplant us into/ Heaven the feeblest lamb/Admist the flock shall be/The shepherds care while/Folded in the saviours arms/We re safe from every snare”. Center: flora and fauna decoration of green and yellow bird, baskets of flowers in pink and red, and abstract decorative diamond shape design, crown and at lower third, large dark and light brown deer with antlers. Surrounding decoration of symmetrical, opposing, repeating design of acorns in brown, stylized flowers and flower baskets in brown, yellow and light green and peacocks in dark and light blue, the overall decoration interspersed with small flowers in light pink and dark pink and yellow and random geometric shapes. Lower center section has stitched "Elizabeth Old her Work Aged 12 years the year of our Lord 1823".
Condition: good with proper right small brown stain in upper third, loss of color to stitching.
