"CUR" at the beginning of an image file name means that the image was created by a curatorial staff member. These study images may be digital point-and-shoot photographs, when we don\'t yet have high-quality studio photography, or they may be scans of older negatives, slides, or photographic prints, providing historical documentation of the object.
CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION A hand-built vase, the open top in an asymmetrical wavy pattern evocative of the silhouette of a flower arrangement, finished along the outer rim with an applied porcelain ribbon molding with incised freehand vertical lines. The neck decorated with incised vertical lines above a central cartouche with an applied flower surrounded by an ovoid garland of small applied buds, flanked either side by two applied oak leaves. The back decorated around the neck and sides with an applied ribbon molding with incised vertical lines, also used to create a plain circular cartouche at center. The ovoid body of the vase tapers towards the foot, above a flaring round base decorated with evenly spaced concave circles and finished above and below with an incised molding of freehand vertical lines. Hole in center of base. CONDITION: Very good condition.
