"CUR" at the beginning of an image file name means that the image was created by a curatorial staff member. These study images may be digital point-and-shoot photographs, when we don\'t yet have high-quality studio photography, or they may be scans of older negatives, slides, or photographic prints, providing historical documentation of the object.
CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Large calcite (alabaster) vase with pointed base. The vase is very similar to 34.977 and has a pointed base. The body tapers from the rim down; undecorated. Condition: Rim is very slightly chipped and there are occasional spots of greenish-blue paint which may be traces of ancient decoration, though this seems improbable.
