    "CUR" at the beginning of an image file name means that the image was created by a curatorial staff member. These study images may be digital point-and-shoot photographs, when we don\'t yet have high-quality studio photography, or they may be scans of older negatives, slides, or photographic prints, providing historical documentation of the object.
    CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Torah Binder, linen with embroidered decoration, sewn into a horizontal strip with continuous Hebrew inscription in a variety of colors [see catalogue page], embroidered decoration of flowers, goat, butterfly, tree of life, star of David. Originally, this was a swaddling cloth, or "wimpel" for a boy. These types of swaddling cloths were then donated to synagogues and used as Torah Binders. Condition: Good.
