Catalogue Description:
One of pair of jade basins. Pair of shallow bowls in the form of ancient bronze basins (type p'an) each having a footring, flared lip, and a handle at each side in the shape of a winged dragon supporting a loose ring. Dark green nephrite flecked with black ("spinach jade"). Sides have low relief decoration of kuei dragons and squared-spirals based on those of ancient bronze ritual vessels. Huang-hua-li (yellow rosewood) stands. Condition: no damage.
