Catalogue Description:
Fork. Oyster fork, silver-plate. Three tines. Broad center tine tapers to point; outer tines with tapering inner contour, outer S-curve contour. First half of handle with straight narrow sides. After mid-point handle widens in progressive ovate shapes to broad end and capped by notched shoulders and pyramidal crest. Symmetrical scroll and leaf decoration in low relief begins on shoulders above tines. First half of handle with thin vertical rope of elongated tulip shapes. After mid-point symmetrical scroll and leaf intertwined design; undecorated field at broad end of handle; crest with large symmetrical scrolls above pinched shoulders and centered scroll and fleur-de-lys motif in point of pyramidic crest. Reverse with similar but abbreviated decoration along contour of handle only. Alhambra Pattern. CONDITION - Good original condition; plate bright; one outer tine bent downward; other tine with bend near point; scratches due to normal wear.
