Catalogue Description:
(a) ivory bodied, molded, ovoid shape with outward flaring upper third and slightly indented central portion, tapering to a rounded, square base and slightly canted conforming foot. Aesthetic style transfer printed in black, overall, widely spaced floral pattern. Interior of body: decorated at center and interior sides with a floral design of large flower, with painted dark red petals and heart shaped leaves with highlights in red, surrounded by smaller flowers and scattered flower buds painted in red and four small leaves painted in orange with slight iridescence. Several random flowers with red painted center or orange center and with orange iridescent leaves. Front: mirrored, widely spaced floral design, painted large eight petal flowers with red center and iridescent orange and red painted petals, amongst painted red and orange iridescent leaves and scattered red painted buds. At either end, under handles, mirrored, floral design of flower with red center and slightly iridescent orange petals and leaves with scattered red painted buds. Handles: applied, upward flaring, openwork square with red highlights and center of handle gilded. Dark red band to rim and narrow red band on lower third of foot. (b) squared, ovid lid, slightly rising at center to a rectangle highlighted in gold, pagoda shaped finial with gold and red highlights. Narrow red band to rim and mirrored, widely spaced, floral design as of main body. Condition: (a) very good, paint loss to red band at rim. (b) paint loss to red band at edge of rim, small chip, proper left, interior.
