Catalogue Description:
(a) Ivory bodied, rectangular shape with rounded corners, continuous vertical flutes, with scalloped rim highlighted in gold tapering to a short rectangular foot. Applied, scrolling, handles decorated with gilding, with feather design at top, gold painted design of three long dashes on central portion and at base, eight gold dashes. Aesthetic style design transfer printed in brown, overall asymmetrical decoration on front consists of circle with dark yellow outline containing blue floral design; superimposed on a large, curling branch and shorter palm fronds, highlighted in pink, pale blue and gold. Proper left: square motif with circular grid pattern in gold, yellow and pale blue. Reverse has a similar asymmetrical, simplified roundel and floral decoration at corners to front. (b) Rectangular, conforming, slightly domed with cut out at short end and gold band around rim. Finial, large, molded flattened oval, leaf decoration with gold highlights. Design on lid is same as on front main body. Proper left, above cut out: brown transfer printed elongated oval with blue frond and circle in yellow and brown; back of lid has abbreviated frond and floral design. Condition: Very Good with normal wear to gilding at rim and handles.
