Catalogue Description: This bust portrait in oils shows Don Ygnacio as a handsome man dressed typically in 19th century fashion with a high-collared shirt, wide cravat tied in a centered bow, and coat. He is in three-quarter view facing the left side. Dona Ana Maria de Cervantes Ozta was his wife. He was noted for his good looks and elegance and was often invited to the palace by Maximillian. He became quite deaf in later life. He was Mayor of Mexico City and was decorated by the Order of Guadalupe during the Empire of Maximillian. His coat is brown in color and his hair is dark and wavy.
