Catalogue Description:
Upper half of a male figure with a bag wig. Plain back pillar to bottom of wig. Much reddish paint on face and body, and traces on negative space; no trace of color on wig or back pillar; top of a white kilt. Style is very bad but, especially given the early date of its acquisition, this is more likely due to its being an example of degenerate or provincial ancient work, rather than modern forgery.
