Description Sideboard, narra wood, amaranth, ebony and painted wood. Superstructure sits on two identical architectural elements, each comprising a pyramid resting on a base. Each pyramid is striped with parallel diagonal bands of inlaid ebony dots on each face. The base of each pyramid comprises four feet, each with back lower moldings forming a mahogany-colored band, above which is a truncated obelisk in blond wood capped by a cornice painted turquoise. From each of these obelisks springs the support for an arched entablature of mahogany-colored wood framed in ebony; interior of each arch painted turquoise; at the keystone to the arch on the front is an oval cabochon of ivory (?). Superstructure is long, deep rectangular form with two tiers of four drawers on front; upper drawers are shallow, lower drawers are deeper and each drawer has a cone-shaped ebony knob. Front and sides of apron, including drawer fronts are striped with parallel diagonal bands of inlaid ebony dots forming a chevron in center of piece. Upper and lower edge of apron beveled inward in mahogany-colored wood framed in black; top and bottom of table surface are blond-colored wood. CONDITION - Normal wear and abrasions, including chip to corner of turquoise molding at proper right front corner of proper left base, Other small chips along molding. Some abrasions along beveled edge of top. Vertical crack through white cabochon on proper right base. Overall very good.
