Art History Happy Hour: Jimmy DeSana SOLD OUT
This program is sold out. Our season of Art History Happy Hours continues with an evening of lighthearted lectures and accompanying cocktails inspired by Jimmy DeSana: Submission, the first museum survey of the photographer’s work. The exhibition features nearly two hundred works documenting the artist’s subversive aesthetic and participation in avant-garde movements, ranging from queer mail art networks to punk music and cinema. During the program, hear from Drew Sawyer, Phillip and Edith Leonian Curator of Photography; Laurie Simmons, artist and executor of the Jimmy DeSana Trust; and artist Carlos Motta as they reflect on DeSana’s work and legacy. Also enjoy a specialty cocktail by bartender Qais Kamran.
Tickets are $45 and include a specialty cocktail, small bites, and after-hours admission to Jimmy DeSana: Submission. Additional beverages are available for purchase. Member tickets are $40. Not a Member? Join today!
