General admission tickets to the Museum are untimed. Ticketed exhibitions have timed entry in 15-minute increments. Member tickets allow untimed entry to ticketed exhibitions.

We strongly recommend purchasing tickets in advance. A limited number of tickets are reserved for same-day purchase at the Museum each day.

See above for pricing details. The general admission prices are suggested contribution amounts and are not applicable to ticketed exhibitions. Members of the following groups receive free general admission with a valid membership card, pass, or I.D. presented on-site:

  • Active-duty military personnel and their families
  • American Alliance of Museums (AAM)
  • Brooklyn Museum Members, including corporate and reciprocal
  • Cool Culture Family Pass
  • Culture Connected
  • Culture Pass (via New York, Brooklyn, and Queens Public Library)

Visit our Current Members page to learn more about Member tickets and other benefits. If you haven’t yet activated your online Membership account, reset your password using an easy, one-time process. If your email address matches a Membership account, you’ll then receive an email from Ticketure.

Strollers, with the exception of oversize and jogging strollers, are permitted in most galleries; ask a Public Safety Officer for specific gallery access. To ensure easy navigation, visitors with strollers may want to attend during off-peak hours, such as mornings, or on stroller tours.

Enhance your day in Brooklyn by visiting the Brooklyn Botanic Garden! From spring through fall, purchase a Museum & Garden Pass online or at the Museum and present your receipt for same-day admission to the Garden. The pass does not include admission to special exhibitions or First Saturdays.

Did you know we're surrounded by other great things to do? Pair your Museum visit with an exploration of the Brooklyn Public Library, Prospect Park, Prospect Park Zoo, or Brooklyn Children’s Museum. You’ll also find lots of restaurants nearby.
