    CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Louis XV style. Oblong, slightly shaped top with applied molded gilded bronze edge; slide pulls out in front for writing; covered in black tooled leather with tulipwood veneered frame. Top and skirts lacquered with chinoiserie scenes, predominantly in gold, on black ground. Drawer on side fitted with compartments for ink and pounce pots. Four cabriole legs with bronze dore mounts on knees and feet cast in foliate scrolls. "JME" was the monogram of the Jures; stamp protected against competition by immigrant craftsmen. CONDITION - Excellent.
