Assistant Manager, Corporate Relations—Development

The Assistant Manager, Corporate Relations, oversees all aspects of our Corporate and University Membership program, which generates crucial operating support for the Museum, from strategy and implementation to growth over time. The Assistant Manager provides administrative support to the Corporate Relations team through a variety of research and reporting activities and also manages the department’s interns. Additionally, the Assistant Manager oversees some exhibition fundraising under the supervision of the Director of Corporate Relations. The ideal candidate will bring excellent time-management and communication skills, attention to detail, and an enthusiasm for corporate fundraising to this role.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with prospect research for a nonprofit development team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Raiser’s Edge, and online research tools such as LexisNexis, iWave, and Relationship Science
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and superb attention to detail
  • Excellent time-management skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks and to prioritize among competing deadlines
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Aptitude for creating and maintaining efficient operating systems
  • Strong general knowledge of development activities
  • Results-oriented with an interest in visual arts and an appreciation of the Museum’s goals and mission

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee our Corporate and University Membership program’s strategy, implementation, and growth, and cultivate a portfolio of approximately forty Members in the program across various industry sectors
  • Communicate regularly with Corporate and University Members, field questions around Member benefits, and implement a monthly newsletter focused on Museum programs and exhibitions
  • Plan and execute special tours and events for Corporate and University Members
  • Maintain relationships with contact people for Corporate Members, renew and upgrade existing Memberships, and provide data to Members to secure funding internally
  • Conduct prospect research to grow the Corporate and University Membership program and upcoming exhibitions, and prepare briefing materials for the program and related sponsorship initiatives
  • Oversee exhibition fundraising under the supervision of the Director of Corporate Relations
  • Write and copyedit pitch decks, collateral materials, and final reports for corporate sponsors and Members
  • Train and supervise interns
  • Build and maintain systems for prospect management and record-keeping using Raiser’s Edge NXT
  • Maintain records of all gifts and pledges received, working with the Development Operations team
  • Coordinate gift processing, draft donor acknowledgment letters, and prepare Membership packages for all Corporate Members and sponsors
  • Work closely with colleagues throughout the Museum to ensure that all Corporate Member benefits are fulfilled (including employee admission, tours, and external events)
  • Support the broader team’s cultivation and stewardship efforts with some project- management tasks and after-hours events

Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm
