Brooklyn Talks: Miss Dior with Justine Picardie and Stellene Volandes

Sunday, November 14, 2021

2–4 pm

Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Auditorium, 3rd Floor

Learn about the remarkable life of Christian Dior’s sister and muse, Catherine Dior, with historian and fashion writer Justine Picardie. Drawing upon extensive research in the Dior archives, Picardie traces Catherine’s journey as well as her profound influence on her brother’s body of work. While Christian honed his couture skills in occupied France during World War II, Catherine committed herself to the Resistance and survived Ravensbruck, the only Nazi camp solely for women. Afterward, her love of rose gardens inspired Dior’s beloved fragrance.

Picardie discusses the research process for her new book, Miss Dior: A Story of Courage and Couture, in a conversation with Stellene Volandes, Editor in Chief of Town & Country. After the talk, stay for a book signing with the author and enjoy exclusive access to our exhibition Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams

Tickets are $25. Member tickets are $20. Tickets including a signed copy of Miss Dior are $65. All tickets include admission to Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams. Not a Member? Join today!
