BUFU Presents US: A Convening on Collective Action

    Brooklyn-based artist collective BUFU presents two evenings (on July 20 and 27) as a part of US, a four-week, five-borough series for sharing strategies, resources, and skills on artist collectives and collective organizing. Come together for a summer evening featuring DJs, cash bar, panel discussions, and skill shares on art-making and community building.

    Schedule:

    • 6 pm Happy Hour

    • 7–8:30 pm Community discussion with Black Lives Matter, Mi Casa No Es Su Casa, Students for Justice in Palestine, Afropunk Army, Brooklyn Anti-Gentrification Network, and more

    • 8:30–9:30 pm Mixer with DJ Fiveboi

    BUFU (By Us For Us) is a collective of queer, femme, and nonbinary black and East Asian artists and organizers working to create a living archive centered around global conversations between black and Asian diasporas, with an emphasis on solidarity, de-centering whiteness, and resurfacing our deeply interconnected and complicated histories.
