In this six-day course integrating art and social studies, K–12 educators will explore the Museum’s world-renowned Egyptian art collection and learn exciting strategies for engaging students with art and culture. Participants will gain content knowledge and pedagogical tools to help them reach and inspire all students.



Through discussion techniques, close observation, art making, sensory and kinesthetic activities, storytelling, and more, participants will explore how objects illuminate the beliefs and daily lives of ancient Egyptians and will come away with a wealth of teaching strategies to bring history to life for their students. Throughout the course, participants will develop and share lesson plans that meet the diverse needs and learning styles of their students. This course will support teachers in the implementation of the Common Core Learning Standards and the Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts.



Dates: Saturdays March 9 and 16, April 6 and 20, and May 4 and 18, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
