Feminist Artist Statement

The medium I choose for each project I am engaged in, is itself a feminist statement.

Fresh Kill

Fresh Kill tells the story of two young lesbian parents, who get caught up in a global exchange of industrial waste via contaminated sushi. Together with kitchen workers, they make an unlikely alliance with activists in the developing world and strike back.

Brandon

A one-year narrative project in installments, Brandon explores issues of gender fusion and techno-body in both public space and cyberspace. Brandon derives its title from Brandon/Teena Brandon of Nebraska, USA, a gender-crossing individual who was raped and murdered in 1993 after his female anatomy was revealed. Brandon deploys Brandon into cyberspace through multi-layered narratives and images whose trajectory leads to issues of crime and punishment in the cross-section between real space and virtual space.

I.K.U.

A Japanese sci-fi porn feature. Early in the 21st Century, The Genom Corporation advanced the sexual revolution into the GEN-XXX phase- a virtual human being - known as an I.K.U Coder. The GEN-XXX I.K.U. Coders were superior in their harddrive bodies, and at least equal in insatiability, to the programming engineers who created them. I.K.U Coders were used in the night-world as XXX data hunters, in the orgasmic exploration and sexualization of other couples. After a non-stop sexing journey by a GEN-XXX I.K.U. Coder team in the night-world, Coders were declared fulldata - ready for retrieval. Special data collectors - I.K.U. RUNNER UNITS- had orders to fuck to retrieve, upon detection, any full data I.K.U. Coders. This was not called love, this was called sex.

BabyPlay

First part of Locker Baby project (including BabyPlay, BabyLove and BabyWork). The clone generation of Locker Babies produced by Dolly Polly Transgency (DPT) are born out of Tokyo coin lockers and entrusted to retrieve human ME (memory-emotion) data on the net. BabyPlay interlinks a large-scale foosball field with the net as ME-motion playing field.

Garlic=Richair

Garlic=Richair imagines a fictional “After the crash” scenario in which organic garlic is ordained as the new social currency, serving as “credit” for the global shared network in economic exchange.

Milk

Created for 56kTV - bastard channel, Milk is the white fluid for the 21st century or what the white powder was for the 20th century high.

BabyLove

Second part of Locker Baby project, BabyLove is a mobile wifi installation that consists of 6 large (170 cm diameter) teacups and 6 clone babies (70 cm tall). By taking a teacup ride with the babies, the ME (memory-emotion) data is retrieved, jumbled and eventually crashed.
