Sulpicia

Flourished circa 90, Rome

There were two Roman poets named Sulpicia. The one on the Heritage Floor is Sulpicia II, who lived in the latter half of the first century. Her best known works are a group of poems describing in explicit detail her relationship with her husband, and a second poem, in the form of a dialogue between Sulpicia and Calliope, the muse of epic poetry, which protests the banishing of philosophers from Rome in 94 C.E..
