Welcome to our reservation page. All school groups must make advance reservations.
Reservations are processed in the order we receive them. Your reservation isn’t complete until you receive a confirmation email from us with an invoice that includes the exact time and date of your visit.
Within two weeks of making your reservation, you’ll receive a confirmation with your scheduled date and time of your visit, or a list of three alternate dates if we are unable to accommodate your original request.
Making a Reservation
To request a reservation, complete a reservation form for a Guided Gallery Visit or self-guided visit. We’re unable to process reservations by telephone, fax, or mail.
Scheduling Multiple Classes
Because some of our galleries are small, there are times when we might have to limit the number of classes visiting one gallery.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
If you need to cancel, please contact us as soon as possible by calling 718.501.6221 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. We reserve the right to cancel Guided Gallery Visits based on weather conditions or other extenuating circumstances beyond our control, though this is an infrequent occurrence. If we have to cancel a visit, we’ll notify you as far in advance as possible. If we cancel your reservation, you have three options: reschedule the reservation, change the reservation to a self-guided visit with a full refund, or cancel the reservation with a full refund. Although we’ll do our best, we can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to reschedule your visit.
Payment is made upon your arrival on the day of your visit. As soon as you arrive, check in at Admissions, located in our lobby. Payments can be made by credit card, cash, or check. To pay by purchase order, mail the order to Visitor Services, Brooklyn Museum, 200 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY 11238, and be sure to include your reservation number.

School Group Fees
All prices listed are per visit for one class (up to thirty students and five adult chaperones).
Guided Gallery Visits:
NYC DoE public and charter schools: $60
NYC private and parochial schools: $80
Schools outside NYC: $100
Guided Gallery Visits for Students with Special Needs:
NYC Schools: $1.50 per student
Schools outside NYC: $2.50 per student
Self-Guided Gallery Visit:
NYC Schools: $45
NYC private and parochial schools: $50
Schools outside NYC: $65
Self-Guided Gallery Visit for Students with Special Needs:
NYC Schools: $1 per student
Schools outside NYC: $2 per student
Guided Gallery Visits are 60 minutes for Special Needs and K–2 groups; 75 minutes for grades 3–12. We offer three start times: 10 am, 11 am, and 11:45 am; indicate on your request form which start time you would like.
Group Size and Chaperones
Your school groups must have adult chaperones with them at all times. Elementary and middle school classes should have one chaperone for every ten students. High school classes must have one chaperone for every fifteen students. The visit fee covers up to thirty students and five chaperones. If there are additional chaperones, we ask them to contribute suggested admission rates.
If lunch is in your plans, the Steinberg Family Sculpture Garden behind the Museum and the public plaza in front are great places to eat bagged lunches (lunches should be left at the coat check). The Norm and Café are unable to accommodate school groups or allow outside food.
School Bus Drop-Off and Parking
Buses are welcome to drop off or pick up school groups at the back entrance to the Museum, which is accessed through the parking lot entrance on Washington Avenue. All school buses must take a parking ticket when entering the lot. Up to thirty minutes is free. More than thirty minutes is $25. Depending on availability, buses can park in the parking lot. The charge is $25 per day. Please give your parking fees directly to the parking lot attendant.
When You Arrive
Please use the entrance at the back of the building, which is easily accessible from the parking lot. This entrance opens into the Rubin Lobby, where you’ll check in at Admissions. To help us protect the artwork, leave all coats, umbrellas, bagged lunches, and large bags at our free coat check. Groups coming to the Museum for a Guided Gallery Visit are welcome to stay afterwards and visit other galleries.
Please arrive on time! Classes that arrive late may receive a condensed lesson because of scheduling limitations. Classes arriving more than 20 minutes late may not be able to receive a Guided Gallery Visit. If you’re running late, call us at 718.638.5000.
Our Shop offers fun and educational items for children, such as books, games, art supplies, and toys. Only ten students are allowed in the Shop at a time.
