Brooklyn Museum photograph
Object Label
The multiheaded divinity, standing with attendants, is tentatively identified as Kārttikeya, the god of war, because of the presence of the peacock, his vahana, or animal vehicle. The type of hairstyle, arranged in three looped knots, is also characteristic of this Hindu god.
