Although born in Germany and educated in New York, Vladimir Kagan was an enthusiastic proponent of Scandinavian design. Opening in 1950, his showroom on Fifty-seventh Street in midtown Manhattan, New York, was one of the first independent design stores to offer both furniture and interior design services in this new style.
