Untitled
Object Label
Nayland Blake stages an unexpected scene using a suspended, toddler-size bunny suit, which is sewn together using thrifted T-shirts. The artist transforms the perceived innocence of childhood into something menacing and unruly, incorporating industrial hardware that seemingly clashes with the costume’s soft, limp form. Across their practice, Blake engages with punk and kink subcultures, genderqueer forms, and feminist possibilities, insisting upon the fluid, porous natures of identity and experience.
