Futon-Gawa (Quilt Cover)

Object Label

This indigo-dyed cotton quilt cover features dancing figures in elaborate costumes interspersed with the kotobuki character symbolizing long life. Each section of the quilt cover is composed of three to five vertical panels about eighteen inches wide—the width of the loom—basted together.
