Inscriptions in Persian in nasta'liq script. Red subtitle on the obverse reads: "Rustam recues Bizhan son of Giv from Akvan the Div's pit." A red subtitle on the reverse reads: "The Difficulty of Rescuing Bizhan from the pit" The text refers to the episode when King Afrasiyab casts Bizhan into a pit (M. Ekhtiar)
