Markings
There are various marks on the bottom: top mark, printed in brown, is a double circle framing the image of a potter and "MELBOURNE / 1790 / G. & W. / Late Mayers". Stamped on bottom is "GILDEA & WALKER', and "10 / 83" (The stamp "IVORY" indicates the color of the clay body, and "10/83" indicates the month and year of production (October 1883). The crowning number "IV" on patent mark refers to the classification for both glass and ceramics.)
