CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Orange spoon, silver-plated with plain bowl that is elongated to a rounded point. First quarter of the stem is undecorated. Decoration begins with a pointed leaf flanked by similar half-leaves topped by a narrow double band above which is a flattened stylized flower topped by another narrow pair of bands, a row of five molded dots in turn topped by another pair of narrow bands. Above this are four very narrow elongated ovals with dense horizontal lines in their centers forming a broad band topped another pair of narrow bands, another row of five molded dots topped in turn by another pair of narrow bands. Above this is a symmetrical leaf design at their interstice of two curving diagonal bands of Maltese crosses. At upper interstice is a stylized sunburst motif with rays in the center, an arc of small dots above and an arched band of scallops with a dot above each half circle. The remaining end of the handle is undecorated. The reverse is undecorated. Winthrop Pattern. Condition: Good. Bowl seems to have a satin finish and handle a bright finish. Small loss of plate to heel of bowl; slight overall scratching.
