CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Tablespoon, silver-plate, with plain bowl. The sides of the handle gradually curve inward and after the mid-point flare out to form a broad area at the end of the handle that ends in a broad pointed arch. The main decoration consists of a profile head of a classical warrior with plumed helmet with raised visor against a stippled ground. Inside the oval frame around the head is a beaded border. This medallion is set in the broad area at the end of the handle and is surrounded by a sparse leaf and scroll decoration that symmetrically covers the entire handle. The reverse has a pair of small symmetrical scrolls at the base of the bowl that leads into a border that frames the entire otherwise undecorated handle. Medallion Pattern. Condition: Good. There is some plate loss on heel of bowl and near end of bowl on underside. There is pitting and numerous long scratches in bowl. The handle has only slight overall scratching
