CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
Half dome-shaped, flat-bottomed, ivory-bodied molded ewer, with gilded bottom edge. Naturalistic painted depiction of thistles and other flora in green, blue, yellow, red, and purple all with painted gold highlights on white body. Tubular spout rises from bulbous pierced knop, gilded, with raised stylized floral ornament and gadrooning. Scalloped pulled-style spout is painted with asymmetrically placed flowers in shades of red, green and brown. Triangular handle with square profile meets body with scrollwork. Outer edge of handle has fourteen raised ovoid /rectangular ridges.
Condition: Very good. Smudges above knop on handle and on lower portion of body
