    MARKINGS On bottom of bowl: painted in black [30]; impressed "WEDGWOOD"; hand-painted in black: "L" and "P" combined, with [ivy] leaf flourish; impressed "MADE IN ENGLAND". Underneath lid: hand-painted in black on underside of lid: "L" and "P" combined, with [ivy] leaf flourish/ "2160".

    CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION A) Bowl:Squat spherical white bodied earthenware bowl, on black painted circular foot. Body painted with regular whimsical spiraling black stripes edged with painted silver decoration resembling leaves or thorns, in manner of Wiener Werkstatte. Two opposing applied white handles outlined in silver. Rim painted with band of small silver ovals. On bottom of inside of bowl, stylized black leaf form. Good condition. Some paint worn and chipped along inside rim pattern. B) Lid: Conical white-bodied lid with regular whimsical black stripes edged with painted silver decoration resembling leaves or thorns, spiraling to meet central spherical white finial. Foot of finial decorated with painted pattern of alternating small silver ovals. Stylized leaf in black on the top of finial, resembling similar form found on inside bottom of bowl. Good condition.
