CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Flat bronze inlay (?) elaborately inlaid with gold, of Osiris seated on a throne. Condition: Head missing, a dew light green spots around neck, throne and base. Gold work in good condition. Bronze has a dull black finish. Condition suggests that the piece was cleaned or otherwise treated about the time of its purchase. Should be sent to the laboratory for treatment and perhaps buffed. The workmanship is excellent and the extensive openwork suggests that this is fragment possibly an inlay from a piece of furniture. The god sits in the conventional posture grasping in his left hand a whip and in his right a long staff. Beneath his feet are alternating Ankh and Was Specter symbols.
