CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
Pair of gold earrings. Loop a single hollow gold wire tapering at one end. At other end hollow bull’s head with details in repousse and incised. Eyes inlaid. Small ring under mouth. Covering joining of loop with head is enlarged cone with swag decoration in imitation of granulated work. Two undecorated bands of wire around base of head.
Condition: The right eye on 05.456.1 remains and seems to be white glass with a green pupil. Possibly this is the substance used in 05.455. Loop slightly bent. Workmanship not very fine.
