This is a canister designed by Marion Anderson Noyes around 1933. The body is pewter and the handle is walnut. Noyes was recruited straight from college to work for Towle Silver Company, which she left after one year to open her own studio and shop. Her work epitomizes the sleekness and functionality of the machine aesthetic.
