CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION A large round jar, with straight shoulders and a large mouth with an averted rim. Horizontal bands of fine stripes flanking an irregular wavy line mark the neck, and a broad wavy band between two thick straight lines marks the edge of the shoulder. The space between the neck and the shoulder defined by these sets of lines is filled with three standing goats between rough vertical bands of irregularly drawn chevrons and an occasional interlace. The goats are characterized by concave backs, solid fore- and hindquarters, stiff joint less leg, and diagonally hatched bellies. The heads have long thin muzzles and round light eyes with central dots. In contrast to the angular symmetrical forms of the body, the horns are rendered by a pair of undulating, almost calligraphic lines that sweep back to touch the top of the hindquarters.
