    "CUR" at the beginning of an image file name means that the image was created by a curatorial staff member. These study images may be digital point-and-shoot photographs, when we don\'t yet have high-quality studio photography, or they may be scans of older negatives, slides, or photographic prints, providing historical documentation of the object.
    CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Chordophone in three pieces. The bottom piece (a.) is a gourd or calabash half which is placed against the belly as a resonator. It is joined to the wooden bow ( c.) on which the strings would be strung by a calabash section( b.) which is notched at the top to hold the wooden bow.Wooden lute gourd resonater. Condition: Gourd cracked, piece broken out.
