CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Tile and frame. (a) Tile, glazed earthenware, blue-green. Bust-length male facing proper left and gazing upward, shoulder length hair, hat with large brim folded up and large collar. (b) Frame, cast iron with patination. Repeated symmetrical leaf motif surrounds raised opening. Elaborate scrolling leaf motif at each corner. Outer frame with band of regularized repeated circle-in-circle motif. Back of frame with diamond shaped brace securing tile with screw and nut above and below. One old and one new wire for hanging. Molded across tile top: "VOX STELLARUM". "A" in circle lower proper left (monogram for Arthur Osborne). Condition: Very Good. Conservation report on file.
