Frequent Art Questions

  • I'd like to know more about this set, please?

This is a late 19th century silver set. The set is for drinking yerba-mate, a type of tea that originated in South America.
The shapes of the cups are based on the shape of cups is based on gourds that indigenous people drank from. The long straight object is a silver straw!
I've normally seen mate in gourds, so this is very interesting to me!
