"CUR" at the beginning of an image file name means that the image was created by a curatorial staff member. These study images may be digital point-and-shoot photographs, when we don\'t yet have high-quality studio photography, or they may be scans of older negatives, slides, or photographic prints, providing historical documentation of the object.
Carved from dark brown hardwood is a standing male figure, with a high elaborate cresting headdress, an elongated neck, and a large projecting flat beard. From the side, the nose, mouth, beard, penis, and knees each come to a point. Inset eyes are curved and slightly open; turned-up nose is angular; and projecting mouth is also slightly open.
Condition is good. Front of proper left foot missing. Some surface cracks.
