"CUR" at the beginning of an image file name means that the image was created by a curatorial staff member. These study images may be digital point-and-shoot photographs, when we don\'t yet have high-quality studio photography, or they may be scans of older negatives, slides, or photographic prints, providing historical documentation of the object.
Table, round, macassar ebony veneer with ivory inlay on mahogany. Circular base on six small block feet surmounted by circular top of same size. Six pairs of square section legs join top to base at outside edge. Ivory bands around bottom of each leg (with total of 48 pieces of ivory), vertical string inlay of ivory around outside top edge (about 760 pieces of ivory), circle of 130 small ivory dots on top, about three inches from outside edge.
Condition: Excellent; when purchased by the Museum, some restoration was done on the piece. Some of the ivory inlay had to be replaced and some veneer was gone from the side of the leg.
